Platform

The Platform is simply enabling politicians – prospective candidates and their parties to have a soap box for their electoral agendas on motorcycling issues pre and post elections.

The Political Soap Box

The Riders Soap Box

Manifestos General Election 2010

The whole slant of our Bikers R Voters campaign is to provide a platform for politicians and political parties to inform motorcyclists about what, how etc they see motorcyclists and their issues, which then gives motorcyclists a view on what could perhaps tip the balance on how they could vote, outside tradition political boundaries.

We are also enabling bikers to get their message to politicians – We  want to know the rider’s point of view – through “The Rider’s Soap Box.”

We want to know what the parties think about motorcyclists and their issues.

We want to know what the politicians think of motorcycling.

Giving both that opportunity through “The Political Soapbox”.

We would like the parties to have a motorcycle manifesto of sorts.

In the Northern Ireland Assembly there is an All Party Assembly Group on Roads Safety, so why not an All Party Assembly Group on Motorcycling?

We would like something for motorcycling such as an event for Northern Ireland similar to what FEMA has organised in Europe for several years – MEP Ride

2010 is the 15th anniversary of  “The Bigger Than Borders” demo which saw 3,000 motorcyclists ride from Belfast to Dublin in protest against proposed new European anti motorcycling laws and interference by the European Commission in motorcycling matters.

This “megaphone diplomacy” still has its place in our armory if there is no other option left

But for now, we hope to be a bit more sophisticated in our engagement with the politicians – our elected representatives.
